All sides flush against a border

card: 1px border on all sides, padding 0; heading and body touch every side.

Card flush against the borders

Body copy sits flush against every visible border line.

Background color, zero padding

no border, but a non-transparent bg; text flush against the bg's edge counts too.

Title flush against the bg edge

Body copy with zero padding around a colored fill.

Outline (not border), zero padding

outline draws outside the box; content at the box edge sits next to the outline.

Title flush against the outline

The outline counts as a visible boundary too.

Wrapped label overruns a fixed-height field

220x28px bordered field: the 11px label wraps to two 16px lines, so both run into the border.

Inset from a grandchild

accordion row: the wrapper has no vertical padding, the button two levels down carries 20px.

Table cells carry the inset

360px scroll wrapper with a border; every cell has 10px/16px padding, so no text reaches the edge.

StarterThree

Screen-reader heading at the edge

360px panel: the only child at the box origin is a visually hidden heading, which paints nothing.

Collapsed panel clipped away

360px FAQ row: the answer sits in a max-height 0 panel, so its text never reaches the screen.

Any game with a public leaderboard.

Tall script, metric box past its own border box

360px panel with a bottom rule, 17px Devanagari on a 12px line box: the measured text rect runs past the paragraph's own box, while the glyphs stay 7px above the rule.

Dashed underline on an inline span

a tooltip trigger's border-bottom is an underline; text sitting on it is the point of it.

You get 1,000 page scrapes every month.

Full-height child, centred label

360x40px bordered pill: the buttons fill its height, but their 14px labels stay 10px inside.

No boundary at all

no bg, no border, no outline; zero padding is fine.

Bordered card with proper inset

card: 1px border + padding 18px 20px; comfortable inset on every side.

Card with proper inset

Body copy sits comfortably away from the borders.

Background card with proper inset

non-transparent bg + padding 14px 18px; content has room to breathe.

Title with inset on bg

Body copy is comfortably inset from the bg edge.

Outline with proper inset

outline + padding 14px 18px; content is comfortably inside.

Title with inset and outline

Outline boundary with proper inset works.

Image-only container, no text

card: padding 0, border all sides; no text means nothing can be flush.

Child margins provide the inset

card: parent padding 0, but text children have margins that create visible inset.

Title inset by child margin

Body copy is not visually flush even though the parent has zero padding.

Inner shell provides the inset

card: parent padding 0, but an inner shell is offset from every edge.

Title inset by inner shell

The direct child creates the breathing room.

Same background as parent

child padding 0, but it has the same background as the parent, so no child boundary is visible.

Same-surface visual shell

The text belongs to the parent surface, not to a distinct zero-padding card.

Full-bleed marquee shell

marquee shell clips animated cards intentionally; the cards, not the shell, own text padding.

Quote card with its own comfortable padding.

Another moving card, also padded inside.

Inner text surface

outer shell has a scene background; the inner window owns the actual text padding.
